1./昨天台灣的高雄發生了一起嚴重的瓦斯氣爆意外.
學生的答案: Yesterday it happened a serious gas explosion accidant at Kaohsiung in Taiwan.
老師的答案: ---1./ Yesterday, a serious [ˋsɪrɪəs] gas blast [blæst] accident [ˋæksədənt] happened in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
問題研討: (1)./ 英文的很多動詞用法跟中文有極大的差異.
(2)./ EXPLOSION 不同於 BLAST 學校通常不會教. 國貿人員經常都用錯,更不用說一般使用英文的人.
2./ 目前,有二十七人死亡約270 人受傷,兩人失蹤.
學生的答案:There are twenty- seven people death, about two hundred seventy people hurt , two people missing.
老師的答案:---2./ Currently, there are twenty –seven people dead [dɛd] , about two hundred and seventy people injured [`ɪndʒɚd] , and two people disappeared [͵dɪsəˋpɪrd].
問題研討: (1)./ 動詞要先確定.
(2)./ “死”列為英文的前三十大難用動詞.一般人非常不容易搞懂. 國貿人員經常都用錯,更不用說一般使用英文的人.
(3)./ HURT 不同於 INJURY. 學校通常不會教.國貿人員經常都用錯,更不用說一般使用英文的人.
(4)./ DISAPPEARED = MISSING ?
